Ann D. Blakey CFP®, MBA
After taking some time off to focus on raising my young children, I wanted to reignite my professional life in a field that had a direct, positive impact on people and how they lived their lives. Financial planning was a great intersection of my interests, education and experience.
My previous experience in television/media – behind the scenes, not in front of the camera! – offered me the opportunity to mesh the production goals of the creative side with the business imperatives. This gave me invaluable experience in analyzing issues from opposing perspectives, as well as from solid financial fundamentals.
WWA appealed to me as an independent company created to offer a personalized approach to each client along with an overall high degree of service at its core. In addition, Maura and Todd were clearly dedicated and passionate about their mission and their clients.
What I love most about my job is working closely with people to identify their specific goals and objectives – we all have things in common, but each person is truly different and that’s fascinating.
My time with WWA has supported the financial planning process for clients to keep them on their path and to offer options when uncertainties arise. I earned my CFP® designation so that I can provide independent financial advice to my own clients, especially women - a niche to whom I am decidedly devoted.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Williams College and MBA from Yale University. In my spare time, between helping my teenagers pursue their favorite activities of horseback riding, lacrosse and dirt biking, I like to hike, ski and read. And, I never seem to forget the lyrics to a song – I’m kind of like a human jukebox!
